Our Bluebonnets

Eagle Scout project produces wildflower attraction.

Garret Hacker, as member of Boy Scout Troop 226, and the IMPACT (I’M Passionate About Christ Today) Youth Group at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, developed a project to achieve his rank of Eagle Scout which helped beautify the church grounds and create an attraction for the community to enjoy.

Garrett coordinated the installation of approximately one half acre of Bluebonnets and other wildflowers that bloom all spring and summer. The first year of blooms yielded a sparse crop of flowers, but has seen a tremendous increase in number and size of the foliage since; particularly the Bluebonnets. The attraction has produced a steady flow of neighbors and visitors from the community stopping for photo ops, or just to enjoy a little  springtime Texas splendor at Lord of Life.

We hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
