It is time to seek the Lord, that He may rain righteousness upon you.
Hosea 10:12

Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML)

"Women in Mission," our local society of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, meets monthly, usually the second Tuesday at 7:00 pm, at the church. LWML is active in promoting and supporting missions and social ministries in the community and around the world. A confidential prayer chain is available for crisis prayer needs. The meetings include times for spiritual growth and establishing friendships.   For more information, visit LWML.

Comfort Makers (Quilters)

The Comfort Makers at Lord of Life are blessed to be a part of the outreach of Lutheran World Relief, a nationwide organization dedicated to sharing the Love of Christ to people all around the world by providing for some of the basic needs of those in difficult or crisis circumstances.

Our group meets 3 times a month to assemble quilts for distribution in 27 different countries as well as our own country, in response to both man-made and natural disasters. Once a year, they are shipped to a warehouse in Maryland, where they are then distributed to those in need. These quilts may bring warmth on a cold night or shelter from the sun on a hot day, serve as a bed, a room divider, a back pack to carry belongings, and at times, even a home. Each quilt is one of a kind, with a beauty all its own, made as a gift of hope and love by caring people. Contact: Dee Peters

Lutheran Braille Workers, Inc. (LBW)

Lutheran Braille Workers, Inc. (LBW) has a work center located at Messiah Lutheran Church in Plano where Lord of Life members participate to print the Bible in Braille. They meet the second Thursday of each month from 9:30-11:00 a.m.

The material is printed free of charge. LBW's mission is to "provide the message of salvation through Jesus Christ to individuals throughout the world who are blind or visually impaired." The work began in 1943 and now has 200 workshops, like ours at Messiah, across the U.S.

The work cannot be done without volunteers. Contact Ruth Bernhardt to volunteer. (972-398-0771 or )
